Supercuts

Just in case my sweet little girl could not look any more like Justin Bieber
Russ cut her bangs..
yes..I said Russ..
It was all very professional

she sat so still

perhaps out of sheer terror

don't you just want to kiss that little face!

Lilly was not to be left out and wanted "up" in the chair too
So, Russ cut all four of her little stray hairs

Sneak Peek

T-16 days until we close on our new house
the anxiety is setting in....
moving with two toddlers seems so overwhelming
knowing that we are not moving back to our families
our home town
our life long friends...

But we have been so blessed in Wisconsin
We have amazing friends through our jobs and church
people offering to make meals, help paint, organize, pack
watch the girls

It is what has been keeping me sane!
So, with our further ado..
a few pictures of what is our soon to be house

A few things about the house
1.  there is no yard or driveway under all of that snow..the building company
will be coming back when the snow melts to do both of those things

2. the landscaping is totally on us we know nothing about plants/trees ha ha!
our goal over the next few months is to do some research on what grows best where

3. right now we only have one close neighbor but there are a total of six lots
on our little cul de  sac so four more will be going up when the lots sell

4. our house backs up to a wooded lot and a storm water drain off
the back yard slopes down right before the wooded area
this is going to make a great sledding hill in the winter!

Alright..I just love the red front door
If our new house had not had a red door this would have been
on the top of my to do list!

This is the kitchen
and we have some major plans for it!
Starting with appliances which we ordered to match the microwave
and dishwasher the builders put in. We are painting and adding a tile back splash
before we actually move in and then will decide what else it needs

disregard the weird staging furniture and decorations

this is the living room with great vaulted ceilings

our only plans for the living room is to paint

I have not gotten a good picture of the dining room
but we also planning on painting and changing out the light fixture
The dining room has a slider door to the back yard
(and non existent patio :)

The bedrooms are bedrooms
We are planning on painting all of them
One will be ours
One will be the girls
and one will be a guest bedroom/office

bathrooms (2)
like the rest of the house..needs a little
Heather and Russell personality thrown in the mix
and a little color
I have plans for a VERY purple bathroom..

We also have an unfinished basement that we hope to
convert to another bedroom (someday)
a play room and a fun hang out room

We will be posting pictures of our projects and updates

Stay tuned!

Necessity

it really is the mother of invention
I would have never started sewing if I could have bought
for a reasonable price
what I was looking for

but like burp clothes and bibs

I could not find any wash clothes that were
soft, absorbent, easy to rinse, did not stain easily, and
somewhat attractive since they sit in a basket on the counter

So, I decided that I would make some
and they work great, look great, and feel great!

What I did was pretty simple:

1. take an high quality terrycloth and cute fabrics and cut into matching 8x8 inch squares
2. Sew wrong sides together leaving a 3 inch opening on one side
3. Turn right sides out, iron, fold under seam, and sew a zigzag stitch around the entire cloth

Hopefully that makes sense..
my sewing vocabulary is limited..

so with out further ado

Where Have I Been

Wow..it feels like forever since I have had a chance to blog
Between house hunting, house buying, house inspections,
shopping for new house decorations and paint

and all of us taking a turn being sick
I have no idea where the last month has been

but, we are all healthy
the house is bought, inspected, and ready to move into
and we close on March 18th!

Here is a picture of our new home

We feel so blessed by God that every part of this process
went so smoothly. I think of the hours I spent worrying
about timing our lease ending with buying a new home, if we would
find the right home, how much work would need to be done..etc

I now I look back and can see that God,
like He always does,
had everything perfectly planned

I wonder why I always struggle with trusting His plan..
He has NEVER failed me and its ALWAYS been
better than I could have ever imagined.

Buy-BEE

This is how Lilly says baby
Buy-BEE

The girls are at such a fun age, all day long they walk
around talking in little garbled mumbo jumbo to each other
and themselves.
Its about the cutest thing I have ever heard.

And its a good thing they are cute
because for some reason now that I decided to get up at 6:30
to be able to have some quiet time before they wake up
(which was around 7-7:30)
they have decided that they are going to wake up around 6 am

fabulous.

They both have little colds right now so i am hoping next week
everyone will be back to the old schedule

We are working on brushing their little teeth
which is funny

I would love to say they are catching on fast..
but its alot more chasing them around as they either try
to take each others toothbrush or drop them in the toilet..

Honey Apples

We literally have gone through one extra large size of baby wash
in the last 15 months
I promise I really wash my kids

every other day

so, I have no idea how it took me 15 months to get to this point
but
I was shopping for a new baby wash
and came across this

and fell in love
its honey apple baby wash

and it smells AMAZING

yes it really smells as good as these pictures!

This is going to be a great baby gift with some soft towels
and baby wash clothes (which you can truly not get enough of)

2011

This new year is already going by so fast..
I am not sure if that is just something you notice more
when you have kids..but life is sure flying by!

I have not been blogging like normal, partially
out of a writers block and partially just business.
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas
and two trips back to Michigan in two months
I literally have no idea where the last month went
except to say that it sure was a fun month!

We had a blast visiting family and friends
and the girls are at such a fun age
they can say some words
mama, mom, dada, ball, and hi
and not a day goes by that they do not make me
laugh out loud
and I love it.

We are also on the house hunt which is taking up an extra  time we have
We have prayed alot about where we should "settle"
after living in 4 places in the last four years we are
MORE than ready to feel settled.

We rented for the last few years we have lived in Wisconsin
since we were unsure about what the future held
In the last few months due to certain events it has become
clear to us that at this time its God's plan for us to stay in Wisconsin
its so bittersweet
I love it here.
.I love the city, I love our church, we both love our jobs,
I love my friends
but
I MISS my family and old friends
every day.

I am trusting God's plan
and I can't wait to see what 2011 holds for us.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
Jeremiah 29:11
