Cards

I saved all of the cards that we were given both for baby showers
and after the girls were born..and I was just not sure what to do with all of them..
My mom saved cards that she was given when I was born and I thought
it was really cool to look at later in life..
But where and how to store all of these cards..
So, I decided for now to display some of my favorites
I found a frame for $2.00 at a garage sale

I pulled it apart and cut up cards to fit the pre-made frame openings.
I just used double sided tape to adhere them..so I can reuse the frame
or change out the cards
And hung it up in their room.

Dollar Store Flowers

For the girls 10 month pictures I decided to embellish shirts that we already had.
I bought these shirts from The Children's Place for around $2.00 each when the
summer clothes went on sale. I did not want the big hearts in the picture and did not
have any other nice looking pink shirts.  (I know this is a shock if you were to look
in their closet and see the sea of pink..but these two destroy clothes)

So, with my extra spending money I purchased 8 rosettes from the dollar store.
I took three and glued them onto a piece of felt (you can get a sheet of 10 for $1.00
at the dollar store.) I glued them to the felt and then sewed the felt onto the shirts with a few
stitches to hold it in place. I wanted to be able to take them off when I was done.

I had 2 extra flowers, so I took them and glued them onto a barrette that was lined with ribbon

Fifty Dollar Friday's

Russ and I are strict followers of the Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace plan.
We have eliminated debt and have NO credit cards
We live on an envelope system and only spend cash on groceries, entertainment,
vacation, clothes, gifts..pretty much everything except our bills

Tears at Aldi

Today I was brought to tears at Aldi
and it was not by some amazing deal
(although some lady did point out that she had just been to Pick and Save
and saw French dressing for 2.46 and at Aldi the same dressing was .99)

I was getting cream out of the refrigerated section when I looked back
and saw a beautiful older woman looking at the girls.
(Being approached by strangers is nothing new..
this could be a whole other post about the absolute randomness that people tell or ask me
while I am out and about)

I saw her make the sign of the cross on the girls heads and went over to hear what she was saying
"I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit"
Then she continued to lay hands on them and pray over their lives.
I was literally crying. It was amazing
and beautiful.
Several people stopped and also had tears in their eyes.

I just love that in the most unexpected times,
doing the most mundane tasks of the day
God takes the time to show me that He is surrounding
me with His protection and love.
