Love Dare

So, today is Day One of the

Love Dare

We started this last night

and I LOVE IT

Having twins (or kids in general) is hard on your marriage

it's the thing no one tells you

or really wants to talk about

but its

REALLY
HARD

So Russ and I decided to challenge ourselves

to grow together regardless of how hard and exhausting life can be

because NEWSFLASH

*something* will always be making life hard

SO,

Day One- Love is Patient

(it felt like on the old TV movies when God writes in fire the Ten Commandments)

SERIOUSLY!

could I have needed this any more?

patience in NO way comes naturally to me..

I am a fast thinker, mover, and talker...

So my favorite part of what we read last night:

"Patience helps you give your spouse permission to be human.

It understands that everyone fails.

When a mistake is made, it chooses to give them

more time than they deserve to correct it.

It gives you the ability to hold on during the tough times in your relationship

rather than bailing under the pressure....

Few of us do patience very well, and none of us do it naturally.

But wise men and women will pursue it as an essential ingredient to their marriage.
That is a good starting point to demonstrate true love"

FOR THE NEXT DAY, RESOLVE TO SAY NOTHING NEGATIVE TO YOUR SPOUSE

AT ALL.

IF THE TEMPTATION ARISES, CHOOSE NOT TO SAY ANYTHING.

IT'S BETTER TO HOLD YOUR TONGUE THAN TO SAY

SOMETHING YOU'LL REGRET LATER.

I have seen Russ for a total of 1.3 minutes today

so far so good..
